May Ying continues up Island Dr.
With the big 30 on the front of the house, it is obvious that they pass the same house several times.
She reaches the intersection with Knollwood Ave. where we first saw her. Here she is cut off, with a slow and inept response she is easily captured.
We return from commercial break to the interior of the OCB. Filmed on set inside Greenwich Studios.
Then we see May Ying being interrogated. This was filmed on location at; 1720 west 28th Street, Sunset Island, Miami Beach. We have seen this location used before in episode 81, Vote of Confidence.
Then we return Grey’s office where Castillo confronts him. Location unknown.
Then back to the interrogation at Riva’s. 1720 West 28th Street, Sunset Island, Miami Beach.
Then we cut to the exterior and it is now dark out. We see Castillo and crew arrive from the west and pull into 1720 West 28th Street.
Then we see an exterior establishing shot of a restaurant, location unknown. Likely stock footage. The restaurant is on a hill/incline so not likely in S. Florida. Possibly San Francisco.
Then we go inside. Filmed on set at Greenwich Studios.
Intercut we see Ma in his hotel room. According to Tom at miamiviceonline.com this was filmed at Miami International Airport, 6485 NW 18th Street.
Then we cut to the warehouse. Filmed at the same Miami Airport building, 6485 NW 18th Street.
We cut back to Rivas’ house before returning to the warehouse.
Though it happens quickly, the wire igniting the flash can clearly be seen ruining the effect.
As the action escalates, Castillo uses the opportunity to murder the unarmed (only a harmless empty container in his hands) Rivas by shooting him in the back.
We return to the interior of the OCB (studio set) where they make use of the state of the art computer system.
Then we go to the boatyard. This was filmed on location at Merrill Stevens Boatyard, 1270 NW 11th Street. We have seen this location used before in the Miami Vice episodes: Yankee Dollar and Knock Knock…Who’s There. Burn Notice has used it in episode 55, Blind Spot. We have also seen it in the movie Ace Ventura Pet Detective.
Then we return to Villa Vizcaya where the episode started. Here we see Castillo and May Ying together and part once again. The episode ends here.
Tom at Miamiviceonline reports “According to production report it was the first scene (filmed) of the episode (and the whole season) on 15 Sep 1988 at 7am.” Thanks for sharing this great information Tom.
