Original air date: 11/18/1988

Filming for this episode took place from 09/15/19888 thru 09/23/1988.

If you recognize any of the unknown locations or have something else to add, please let me know at: cglide@floridamovielocations.org

The episode starts out with a pretty view of the sky just after sunrise.

Then we cut to a party in what is stated to be Ecuador. In reality this was filmed on location in Miami at Villa Vizcaya. 3251 S. Miami Ave. We have seen this location previously in the Miami Vice Episodes: Rites of Passage, Whatever Works, French Twist, Trust Fund Pirates(aerial), God’s Work, The Rising Sun of Death. Also in the movies: Tony Rome, Absence of Malice and Ace Ventura-Pet Detective. The Burn Notice series also used it in episode 54, Hard Time.

We then follow along as a couple quickly leaves the party. They enter their car which is parked facing south at the front of Villa Vizcaya.

They drive off. In reality they would have had to turn right immediately to exit the grounds. Instead we see them go straight toward the visitor parking area.

Opposite view. As would have been seen from inside the car.

Car was parked here

Gate Area was much more forested at the time Vice filmed here.

Their car pulls thru the gate and then the next three cuts focus on interior of the car however it is clear that all three cuts were filmed in front of Villa Vizcaya between where the car was parked and the gate they already passed by.

Then we see them head toward the visitor parking area.

The couple barely gets away and we cut to the standard season 5 opening montage.

Act 1 opens inside the OCB. Filmed on set inside Stage A at Greenwich Studios.

Then we see Castillo arriving home. This is the same house that we see him at throughout the series. Castillo’s house was filmed on location at 3351 Poinciana Avenue, Miami. When we first see him he is pulling off of Bayside Ct. and proceed north up Pionciana Ave. In real life this makes no sense as he is arriving from a dead end.

We then go inside. All the interior scenes were filmed on location at 3351 Poinciana Avenue.

Then we see a truck at a loading dock being watched as it is loaded. This was reportedly filmed at The Port of Miami. In the sat. picture below I pinpoint the building that was most likely the loading docks used but the port has changed enough that I have not been able to confirm this yet, 100%.

Then we see Castillo driving with May Ying. This was filmed on location. In the first cut we see them start eastbound in front of 1730 N View Dr on Sunset Island 1. They proceed past 2830 Sunset Drive before it cuts.

In the second cut we see Castillo as they continue eastbound on N. View Dr. toward Sunset Dr.

Cut three covers the same ground but looking SW at May Ying.

In the 4th cut we are again looking at Castillo and they are continuing on N. View Dr and start to turn onto Sunset Dr.

Cut 5 starts at the north end of Sunset Dr. And travels the length of the drive until they start the turn onto West 28th Street, westbound.

Cuts 6 and 7 complete the turn, however they are not at the south end of Sunset Drive and both cuts were filmed at different locations. Most likely on Sunset Island but I have not confirmed the locations 100%.

Then we cut to the truck having been stopped. According to Tom at Miamiviceonline.com who has the daily production reports for this episode, this was filmed at Bill Baggs Cape Florida Park on Key Biscayne. Thanks again Tom.

Then we go to the meet between May Ying and her husband. This was filmed on location at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Miami International Airport. Located at 3974 NW South River Drive.

Then we go inside the OCB’s conference room. Filmed on set inside Stage A at Greenwich Studios.

Then we cut to an exterior establishing shot of the SE Financial Center, 200 S. Biscayne Blvd. Miami. We have seen this location in Florence Italy, The Fix, When Irish Eyes Are Crying, Streetwise, A Bullet For Crockett, and God’s Work.

Then we go inside, location unknown.

Then we go to Castillo’s house. 3351 Poinciana Ave. Coconut Grove.

Then we see May Ying’s husband at a phone booth. This was filmed on Harbor Drive, Key Biscayne, just off of Crandon Blvd. Thanks again to Tom at Miamiviceonline.com for the location information.

Intercut we see a pretty shot of a cove. Location unknown.

He calls May Ying at Castillo’s and an irresponsible Trudy lets her slip out.

In reality, May Ying heads into a dead end and Trudy could and would have easily trapped her.

Next, we see May Ying turn from north/eastbound on Knollwood Dr. to north/westbound on Island Dr., Key Biscayne. Thanks again to Tom for the location information.

Then we cut to the south end of Island Dr. (The opposite direction we just saw May Ying go) starting in front of 21 Island Dr. We see her again going north/west.
